Am I crazy to think I can only spend $8/day for a family of 6??

So a funny thing happened the other day.  I went through EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. we SPENT this last year.  To say I was horrified was an understatement.  I pride myself on my frugality and my ability to stretch a buck.....BUT GUESS WHAT??!!  I had no idea how much money we were actually, really, for the reals spending.  Now, life last year was a bit hectic, and the only real excuse I can give is that in the middle of my roller coaster I just DIDN'T CARE if we ate pizza every night and spent an obnoxious amount of money on takeout. I was just trying to survive.  Anyone ever been there??  I had a colicky baby who was sick all winter, my Father-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and I started my own ETSY SHOP that became way more successful (and time consuming) then I ever could have imagined.

So, after reviewing our current finances and having a "Come to Jesus" with myself, I realized some things were gonna change around here.  If anyone followed my past Blog about my extreme couponing, you will remember a little segment where I tried to only spend $8/day for 21 days.  It was challenging, eye opening and really put things into perspective.  Since then, the Hubs and I have DOUBLED our amount of children ( 2 kids within 16 months and 6 days) because quite frankly, we like to overachieve and freak our families out. .... JUST kidding, we just make such beautiful babies, we felt two kids was just not enough to contribute to this world and I don't like odd numbers, so 4 seemed like a good idea.   See, doesn't that look nice and even??

ANYHOW,  I may be crazy, or overly ambitious, BUT, I am going to take you on my journey as we, a family of SIX pledge to spend no more then $8/day for 21 days.  In this time, it is my hope to break my habits of spending out of "I want", and focus on the "Truly NEED".

Please note, this does not Include our monthly bills~ This $8/day includes all food/gas/activities, etc.... Also note that any dollar amount left over will roll into the next day :)

So Let's begin, shall we??  We began March. 1st, 2015.  I thought I was going to be able to spend nothing and start off day 2 with an overage...But guess who ran out of toilet paper day 1?  This girl.  NO JOKE...there was not a single sheet of T.P. anywhere in our house.  Why?  Why you ask??  Well, my demon possessed   adorable #4 decided to unroll a whole roll of toilet paper and put it down our vent.  I am sure this will be the first of many "adorable" things you will hear #4 doing....he's a real treat! So, I took my 4 super well behaved hungry, tired children to Walmart and picked myself up a REAL nice off brand of TP.  It was labeled as the "HUGE" rolls, equivalent to 36 regular rolls.  The price was right at $5.44.  My kids were begging me to get them a snack...SORRY kids...Mama's on a mission here~NO SNACK FOR YOU.

TOTAL SPENT DAY 1- $5.88
Rollover- $2.12
